“ I consider myself a pizza connoisseur (elitist, lover, dare I say SNOB... whatever, it’s my absolute favorite food so take that into consideration). Not Dave Portnoy cheese pizza bar type... no, no, no... more like prosciutto, grilled pear, arugula, mozz/fontina with a house made balsamic drizzle type. I have been all over and around this country and had many opportunities to try what, as critics have reported, the best pies around. Imagine my surprise when I hear about a tiny pizza place in the “Ranchos” that everyone says could hang with any pizza I have had, and maybe beat it. “Yeah right” over and over in my head. Well damnit if they didn’t knock my socks off. From the obviously home made sauce (do I detect heavy doses of Pinot Noir?), home made dough that can be made cracker thin, caramelized perfectly, and yet retain that Neapolitan style chewiness after initial crunch OR be hand tossed traditional style soft and chewy perfection. I had an amazing time chatting about my love for pizza with the owner, and she let me know a little history about the place and expressed her obvious love of this perfect food as well. I absolutely had to make sure that since I was traveling over an hour with these pies, to make sure I had a slice while I waited, gave her my raving review, told her that I have a fondness for hot honey drizzle on thin crust pep za and she busts out a bottle and says “well you have to try this”... BOY DID I!!! Absolutely amazing customer service, great pizza, worth the drive to the “Ranchos” if not from there. I would actually rate this in my top 10 of all time. Customer for life now!!! ”
